How to grow a declining business and attract new clients targetting Haute Couture and international designers? How to position a button selling company whilst customers were evolving their own business from fashion houses to lifestyle companies? There was a need and opportunity for change establishing a new marketing strategy – from “we have all you need” to “we know what you need” – establishing lifestyle & fashion competence resulting in a >10% uplift of business within the premium sector.

The business was affected by copy-cats arround the globe, especially by european clients submitting free sample buttons to their production sites in far-east in order to get the style produced locally. Design proposed to look for a partner in Hong Kong to be enabled to offer delivery of selected product range at clients production site at a tailored price and local quality but proofen service quality.


Since the right local production house became identified the company successfully participates in a business they’ve sufferd from before.

Union Knopf is a trading company and manufactuerer of fashion accessoiries and buttons.

Establishing lifestyle & fashion competence and change of marketing strategy – from “we have all you need” to “we know what you need” – attracted new clients, and resulted in closer collaboration between the design department, the moulding and tool-making department and the internal material development team, which allows to better respond to changing market needs with specific and customized products.
