Ritzenhoff Lola –

the Gourmet Soda

We can drink this alcohol-free and politically correct toast to the United States and the Stars and Stripes! A real refreshment in view of the doldrums on the market, just right for a long hot summer. This delicious refreshment which conquered the world from the USA, a drink that is not only one of the most popular but also one of the most famous drinks ever, can now also be enjoyed in Ritzenhoff glasses.

Product Idea

Ritzenhoff is to pay homage to America with their own cola glass. ‘Drink cola with Ritzenhoff’. Whichever brand of cola you prefer you will be able to drink it cold from a Ritzenhoff cola-glass for that original, refreshing, revitalising feeling.

Task

Please, design a decoration for a cola-glass, bearing in mind cola originates from America.

It’s roots lie in American culture.

Decoration themes:

– The American Way of Life / The American Diner / Juke-boxes / Bowling-allies / The Movies etc.

– Famous American Landmarks/ Buildings

– Famous people associated to America eg. Elvis, Marilyn.

– Cartoons.

– Funky modern designs aimed at the younger market

ritzenhoff stories

Ritzenhoff is a glass manufacturer using a Design inspired business model reaplying the Swatch principle of creating one base product (archetypic form), and adding value by simply changing decoration only.

Telling the Design Story asking designer and artists to deliver decoration for products in self-displaying packaging that target the gift market – allowed Ritzenhoff to generate additional revenue in the stagnant  market of their core business.
